The theme of the short story about ''Young Goodman Brown'' is that sometimes a decision that you make will affect your life because what you do or say can affect what you do in the future. For example in Young Goodman Brown, Young Goodman Brown left his wife (Faith) because he had to go to the woods alone and accomplish his destiny. While he's at the woods a mysterious man appears out of nowhere and tells him that he must go with him to the great unknown. As the story goes on the diction of the story is described as how the author describes Young Goodman as a dynamic character because he felt the need to leave his faith and his life behind and also the syntax explains how he described Young Goodman Brown as the guy that is a intransigent because he is unwilling and refuse to change his ways. Some of the quotes the author used to describe the story and Young Goodman Brown is in the story he says '' With this excellent solve for the future Goodman Brown felt himself justified in making more haste on his present evil purpose.'' The explains this because he describes Goodman Brown as a present for an evil purpose and what this means is that he believes that Goodman Brown taking a dreary road and darkened by all the gloomiest trees in the forest says the author.
